A single-wide mobile home was gutted by flames early Friday morning inside the Blue Pacific Mobile Home Park, 220 Mar Vista Drive in the Seacliff area of Aptos.
The initial call to 911 came at 1:45 a.m. with a report of flames and smoke inside the structure at unit 33.
The first firefighters to arrive reported the home as “fully engulfed.” One resident in the park said Friday that the woman that lived there got out safely.
Firefighters from Central Fire were joined by Aptos La Selva Fire and Santa Cruz City Fire in tackling the blaze. Water supply was an immediate issue. Firefighters had to link up two supply lines from a distant fire hydrant and then run supply lines through the mobile home park.
Division Chief Todd Scrabak of Aptos La Selva Fire said the home was deemed a total loss.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
